About Tee Whiz

Tee Whiz is a lightweight, browser-first guessing game for golf fans. Each round presents a silhouette swing — a short clip that captures the motion and posture of a professional golfer. Your challenge is to identify the golfer using a combination of visual cues and limited bio hints. The game mixes casual trivia with pattern recognition and is designed to be approachable for newcomers while offering a steady test for more experienced fans.

Why I Built It

The idea hit me while volunteering at the John Deere Classic. Being around the pros and the energy of a real PGA event made me realize how cool professional golf is… and how tough it can be to get younger fans into it. So I built Tee Whiz as a fun, quick, no‑pressure way to learn the sport and the players while having a good time.

Me and my friends are big on daily trivia games and sports, so Tee Whiz is basically the mash‑up we always wished existed. It’s simple, competitive, and something you can knock out in a minute.

I’m just someone who enjoys sports, friends, Barstool, and anything that brings people together — and Tee Whiz is my way of sharing that energy with the golf world.

What's Included

The site contains the following features that make the game fun and fair:

• Daily puzzle mode — one curated silhouette each day for each difficulty (easy and hard mode). Daily Mode shows the same golfer to all players each day, making it great for competing with friends over who solved it fastest.
• Practice mode — cycles through the entire roster randomly, so you can learn and improve by playing back-to-back rounds.
• Nine Holes mode — a longer session of 9 sequential silhouettes for scoring and bragging rights.
• Biographical hints — the grid reveals bio attributes to help narrow candidates. A single "Take a stroke" hint is available per round as a strategic penalty.

Data & Sources

All golfer metadata used on this site (names, basic bios, and clip metadata) is curated from public sources and maintained here for the purpose of the game. If you believe any data is incorrect or have a request to remove or update an item, please use the contact form and provide details so I can validate and correct it.

Editorial & Maintenance Standards

Tee Whiz is maintained with a few practical standards: gameplay rules should be clear, metadata should be internally consistent, and updates should avoid disrupting active daily play. That means major logic changes are rolled out deliberately, while small data corrections are batched and published with version updates.

When evaluating a report, priority goes to issues that change gameplay outcomes (wrong identity, broken clip, or incorrect comparison field). Cosmetic issues are still fixed, but outcome-impacting bugs are handled first. If you submit a correction request, including the golfer name, mode, and a short description of the mismatch helps speed up verification.

What “Fair Daily” Means Here

Daily mode is intended to be comparable across all players for that day. The same daily answer appears for everyone in each difficulty so users can compare results meaningfully. Practice and Nine Holes are designed differently: those modes prioritize repetition and learning rather than single-day leaderboard comparability.
